RICHARD GOODHIND, the son of RICHARD GOODHIND and ANN ____, was baptised on April 2, 1713 in the Presbyterian Chapel in Cullompton.

He married MARY GOULD in St. Andrew's Parish Church in Cullompton on February 11, 1734. Virtually nothing is known about the couple, they are believed to have had three children, all baptised in the Presbyterian Chapel in Cullompton:

A. RICHARD GOODHIND, (the "Victualler") was baptized on December 15, 1735. (This is our descendant line.) Richard married MARY HEPHES.

B. HENRY GOODHIND was baptized on July 27, 1738.

C. MARY GOODHIND was baptized on April 14, 1740. Mary married JOHN FACEY. a "Woolcomber", by Banns at St. Andrews Church in Cullompton on November 27, 1763.

The burial is recorded of a "Richard Goodhind" at St. Andrew's Parish Church, Cullompton on April 29, 1741 and it is likely to have been this Richard Goodhind, who like his brothers John and Joseph, pre-deceased their father Richard the "Sergemaker" who died in 1768 and were not named in his Will. Henry Goodhind and Mary Facey were, however, beneficiaries under the Will.
